Mission Statement
“The Walk Forward Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization based in Columbia Illinois. It was created from lived experience and a deep belief that no one should face addiction alone. Through donor support and proceeds dedicated to our mission, we help individuals access alcohol and drug rehabilitation, giving them the support, resources, and encouragement they need to reclaim their lives.”

My Walk Through Hell - Christopher Schenewerk, MD
At the Walk Forward Foundation, one of our first missions is to raise awareness about emerging substances that pose serious risks to individuals, families, and communities. Two of the most concerning are Kratom and 7‑Hydroxymitragynine (7‑OH) — products often marketed as “natural,” “safe,” or “legal,” yet linked to addiction, medical emergencies, and life‑threatening complications. Our goal is not to create fear, but to provide clear, trustworthy information so people can make informed decisions about their health and recovery.
The Three Amigos
The Three Amigos started on March 8, 2019 with four people gathered in the back of Chris's office in Columbia, IL. Since then several other meetings have formed in the surrounding area - and the momentum is still growing. Click here for more information on meetings in your area.
